The death must be verified before we can bring the deceased person into our care. If this hasn't happened yet, still complete this form and we will advise you when we call. If the person died is at home or in the care of a hospice / nursing home, call us on 0141 889 6351 (24hrs). This is so we can arrange to bring them into our care as quickly as possible and provide guidance on the next steps.

What to do with the ashes

We use our local crematorium, Paisley Woodside to undertake the cremation unless you have an alternative preference (alternative crematoriums may have different fees for this service so could affect the overall cost of the funeral)

Learn more about ashes

Some people are concerned that ashes they get back are not those of the person who died. This isn't true.

Crematoriums have very strict and careful processes in place to ensure that the ashes you get back are always the ashes of the person that has been cremated.

We will store the ashes for a period of 56 days (8 weeks) from the date of cremation. If ashes are not collected or further instructions provided before this time, we will return the ashes to the crematorium where the cremation took place. The crematorium will then seek clarification on the collection of the ashes or notification of instructions. If the ashes are not collected or the crematorium receive no instructions after a further 4 weeks, they reserve the right to scatter the ashes within the crematorium grounds.
